ππ» Jacob here.
The impending new year is a stark reminder that time marches on.
It’s easy to fall into the trap of procrastination, delaying today’s tasks until the promise of tomorrow or, more specifically, January 1st.
Why wait for your career to unfold when you have the power to shape it now?
Don’t wait for opportunities; create and seize them.
Now is ideal for taking bold action and creating the habits that produce outsized results.
This week, ask yourself and consider the following:
How can I achieve my five-year plan in the next six months?
I write this as a personal reminder to follow through on the hard decisions I’ve delayed making.
I suspect you have hard decisions to make, too.
I’ll share hindrances delaying my five-year plan as an example.
I need to:
WHAT: Cut unhealthy relationships vs. trying to win them.
HOW: Have difficult conversations with family and friends without letting emotions interfere.
WHAT: Let go of work that acts as an anchor vs. a sail.
HOW: Sunset an offering and accept the short-term revenue loss for the long-term greater good.
WHAT: Trust experts to carry more weight for the business vs. shouldering the burden alone.
HOW: Invest in offloading taxes, finances, legal, and marketing to specialists and hand off other stressors.
WHAT: Pursue clients that challenge me vs. deferring until I’m “better.”
HOW: Recognize that I’m not a kid anymore; I’m great at my craft and deserve to be in the room with the best.
- Did these resonate with you?
- Are you tolerating artificial limitations that hinder your potential?
- What must be true to realize your five-year plan by June?
Stay fearless, friends.
See you next week.
